The humble bumble bee is gentle and slow, trundling around the garden collecting pollen and nectar.
Because they live in small nests bumble bees never swarm.
You don't need a bee suit or any other specialist equipment for use with the Beepol Lodge, the bees will look after themselves.
Bumble bees are non-aggressive. Generally they will not attack a human at all, unless their life is under threat. Don't wave your arms wildly in their presence, stand quietly and once they smell you are not a flower with pollen they will move gently away.
Bumblebees are responsible for pollinating lots of plants in your garden including runner beans, broad beans, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, gooseberries, sunflowers, cherries, pears, plums, apples, peaches, courgettes, marrows, pumpkins, gourds, aubergines, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and strawberries.
