Entry 2- 17/05/2010- 25/05/2010 Tallest Plant- 258cm (Country Taste) Well what a change in the weather we have had this week. With it getting a lot warmer we have had to top up our systems a lot more than usual as everything is growing quick and using a lot of water. The Floridity Tomato plant is showing 4 ripe tomatoes and its 7th truss, whilst the Sun Gold tomato plant has a whopping 26 ripe fruits and is setting its 6th truss. Also, the regrown side shoot on the Floridity Tomato plant is performing well as the new main stem. Although we are seeing no fruit on the sweet pepper plant yet, there are 40 flowers so we should be expecting some fruit setting in the next couple of weeks. |

Entry 3- 25/05/2010- 03/06/2010 Tallest Plant- 282 (Country Taste) It’s been a pleasure to grow this week with the weather being lovely and giving us plenty of sunshine, which has lead to a rapid growth of our all our plants. However, it is important in weather this warm to make sure your systems are topped up regularly as they seem to use a lot more water in these warmer climes. You might also want to think about shading your greenhouse to avoid overheating your plants, depending on the position of your greenhouse. Our tomato plants have shot up this week in our Hydrogrows, with the Sungold plant growing 32cm in just one week! The Floridity variety now has 9 fruits ready for the picking and the sungold has 20! Going to be delicious in our salads and pastas. The pepper plants in the Hydrogrow are also blooming at 126cm, with lots of flowers showing and the first fruits starting to set.
