Each of these mealybug predators can consume 250 mealybugs during its life cycle!

The predator is a predatory ladybird; Cryptolaemus montrouzieri. The Cryptolaemus has no wings at the larvae stage so can be placed directly onto the mealybugs. It will then feed on them before developing into an adult beetle, which will continue to feed on the mealybugs.

Mealybugs are often found on plants in greenhouses or conservatories, especially on succulents and cacti. They have a white fluffy appearance and produce a waxy film to cover their eggs. Plants with mealybugs become sticky and are prone to sooty mould growth.

Apply 5-10 mealybugs per plant depending on the level of infestation. Repeat applications might be required if the mealybug population is high. Mealybug predator larvae are supplied in packs of 25 larvae. Please note the larvae are similar in appearance to the mealybug, so it is advised you study them before applying to familarise yourself with the predators.

*Please Note: These are live biological controls which are available all year round. They are harvested at a specific point in their lifecycle.
