Visit Our Greenhouse
Our record breaking greenhouse is open to visitors all year.
It was here that we grew the world’s longest tomato plant and we’re still growing plants that regularly result in us featuring on the news. Come along to see and taste fruiting bananas, 9 varieties of chilli including the super-rare Trinidad Scorpion, ginger, papaya, lemon grass and unusual tomato varieties up to 15ft (4.5metres) long.
Many of the plants are grown in our ‘hydroponic’ (soil-less) planters. Our Gardening Angels will happily explain how these work and why plants grown using this technique produce harvests 3x bigger than plants grown in soil and why one of our chilli plants grew 7ft in 5 weeks.
All of the plants in our greenhouse are grown in the planters we design and make, so visiting is a great way of seeing the results for yourself.
The world’s longest tomato plant

We’re a naturally curious bunch, so it’s not that surprising that we decided to try to grow a very long tomato plant.
We chose to grow a Sun Gold tomato because everyone likes the taste and because the fruit is small, leaving plenty of room for the plant to grow
We called the Guinness Book of World Records when the plant reached 19.8metres (65ft), but it continued to grow and actually reached 92 foot long before we finally decided that we would like the greenhouse back and we uprooted the plant.
The plant was incredibly healthy and fruited throughout its life.
We've been visited by the Guardian, Kitchen Garden and BBC North West Tonight.
