Place tall cropping plants such as tomatoes, beans and cucumbers in the 4 x 11litre pots and use the central planter for herbs, salads and shallow rooting veg.
The key to patio gardening and growing vegetables on your patio is to make the most efficient use of the space available and the patio allotment will give you the best yields in a small area. Making sure that all your patio plants are well watered is also important and all our planters get the watering balance right for you. Plants need enough water to take nutrients up into the plant, but if there is too much water the roots don't have access to enough oxygen. Incorrect watering causes most gardening problems, including blossom end rot and fruit splitting. Simply fill the SmartReservoir and let the FeederMats in the pots pull water up to the roots when they need it. So you can go away safe in the knowledge that your tomatoes, cucumbers, beans or whatever you like to grow will always have the water and nutrients they need.
