Planters

Made in England by Greenhouse Sensation

Our planters have been designed to produce bumper harvests by keeping plants perfectly fed and watered at all times. Expertly designed and extensively tested by our horticulturalists and made in England to last. Our self-watering planters are listed below.

Our tomato and tall plant planters, chilli planters, salad planters and herb planters help you to get bigger harvests. With our planters your plants will have access to water whenever they need it, but the roots are never stood in water, so access to oxygen is never limited. Your vegetable plants (from aubergines, beans and chillies to squash, tomatoes and zucchini) are kept perfectly fed and watered for several days at a times in these planters so they produce bumper harvests. Our Saladgrow for salads and Herbgrow for herbs are ideal planters for growing in small spaces and for growing salads and herbs all year round.

Our chilli growing kits are designed by Chilli Experts to help you grow bumper harvests no matter how little space you have. We have everything you need to grow chillies from seed to healthy mature chilli plants which produce bigger harvests. If you need some help choosing the right kit for you, email us or give us a call.

We've been growing chillies for over 35 years, so we're biased but chillies are one of the most popular plants to grow at home. Whatever your taste, mild, medium, hot or sweet, they are a firm favourite for adding flavour and colour to meals and they have well documented health benefits. The size your chilli plant will reach depends on the variety you choose, and with a wide variety of chillies to choose from you will be sure to find one to suit your location and growing space. Small varieties such as Apache are idea for growing at home on your windowsill but if you have additional space such as a greenhouse then there is a vast array of flavour sensations to tantaslise your taste buds.

The Chilligrow keeps your plants perfectly fed and watered at all times without ever overwatering. Simply fill the 7 litre SmartReservoir and let the FeederMats in the pots pull water up to the roots when they need it. Although your chilli plants have access to water whenever they need it, roots are never stood in water, so access to oxygen is never limited.

Unless you are growing in one of our Chilli Growing Kits with our plant nutients, feed your chillies with a general liquid fertiliser until they are established. Following that use a high potash fertiliser to encourage your chillies to flower and fruit. Keep them weed-free and keep an eye out for common pests.

If your a big fan of growing potatoes the the Potatogrow is the ideal replacement for traditional potato planters and pots, with space to grow 4 varieties of potatoes in one planter. The potatogrow produces healtier plants by giving your growing potatoes constant access to water without ever over-watering. This space saving potato planter makes it perfect for patios, with a clever design which prevents water-logging so you raise bumper harvests of potatoes every time.

For grow your own gardeners growing vegetables, herbs and salads on a patio, greenhouse or polytunnel our best-selling Quadgrow planter is ideal. Described by Garden Answers as “The answer to most gardeners’ prayers”, the Quadgrow planter is the perfect replacement for traditional tomato pots and grow bags as it produces 2x bigger harvests and holiday-proofs your plants. It is ideal for growing tomatoes and tall cropping plants. The most popular plant for our Quadgrow planter is tomatoes because tomatoes particularly dislike irregular watering. Overwatering and sporadic watering can cause tomatoes to develop blossom end rot or cause the tomato fruit to split. The Quadgrow planter keeps plants perfectly fed and watered for up to 2 weeks at a time resulting in healthier plants with bigger harvests of whatever you are growing.

The varieties of tomatoes you can grow in a Quadgrow planter depends on whether you are growing tomatoes in a greenhouse, polytunnel or outdoors. Vine tomatoes also known as indeterminate are best if you are growing tomatoes in greenhouses and polytunnels. Indeterminate tomatoes are the most popular. Popular varieties of indeterminate tomato plants include Sungold tomato, Piccolo tomato and Gardeners Delight. These tomato plants can grow to several metres long. Bush tomato varieties are also known as determinate tomatoes and are more compact, ideal if you are growing tomatoes outside. Popular varieties include Tumbling Tom, Red Alert and Garden Pearl.

Favourite tomato varieties include:

  • Country Taste – large tomatoes full of flavour, meaty texture.
  • Lldi – Sweet, yellow cherry tomatoes suitable for growing outdoors and in a greenhouse.
  • Sungold – Golden orange deliciously sweet tomato, slightly larger than a cherry tomato.

If you’re interested in growing exotic plants, our Rain & Drain Exotics Planter perfect for growing exotic and tropical plants such as bananas, ginger and papaya. This electric planter includes a timer which ensures exotic plants are fed and watered several times per day. This creates the conditions need by tropical plants, without over-watering, producing strong healthy plants and bumper harvests. Our Hydroponic Planters produce the biggest harvests and provide plants with superior access to oxygen, nutrients and water so they grow faster, are healthier and produce 3 - 4x bigger yields than a soil-grown plant. Take a look at our customer reviews. Our hydroponic planters constantly pump water and nutrients to the plants roots, so they have constant access to everything they need. What your plants don’t need drains back into the reservoir.
