The Solargrow is our most space-efficient planter – producing up to 3x more of what you want to grow than a pot or a growbag - and it certainly does things differently.
The Solargrow uses pebbles instead of soil and a solar powered pump delivers the perfect balance of water and nutrients 2x every hour, so your plants grow quickly and healthily and produce bumper harvests.

The bumper crops for which our customers love the Solargrow are thanks to a perfect balance of oxygen, water and nutrients.
• Water and nutrients - Twice every hour the pump provides your plants with water and nutrients. What the plants don’t need drains into the reservoir – so there’s no over-watering or under-watering.
• Oxygen - Pebbles are used instead of soil because they give the roots more access to oxygen and they prevent water-logging. Fresh air is pulled down to the roots every time the water the plants don’t need drains away.
Care for your plants as you usually would and simply top up the integral reservoir every couple of days. Your Solargrow comes complete with everything you need, planter, solar panel, clay pebbles, capillary cubes and one season’s supply of specially formulated plant nutrients. The Solargrow planter produces professional results, indoors or outside.

Holiday Watering*
Add the Holiday Watering Kit, an external 25 litre reservoir which will keep the plants watered for up to two weeks, taking care of weekends away and holidays. *Please note that Holiday Watering must be ordered along side your Solargrow as this kit can not be added at a later date.
Space Efficient
Because the plants are not relying on the soil for your nutrients you can put 3 plants in one Solargrow, simply train them away from each other so that they have enough access to light.
How it Works
Like a solar-powered fountain!
Included in the Solargrow Kit is a reservoir which sits below the planter. The two are linked together by a solar powered pump and fountain effect irrigation tubes.
Pebbles are placed in the Solargrow and plants are tipped out from their plant pots and placed into the planter. Water is added to the reservoir.
The solar panel registers the amount of light and pumps the appropriate amount of water up from the reservoir through the fountain tubes to water the planter twice every hour. The water not used by the plants is drained back into the reservoir, pulling down fresh air and pushing out stale air as it does so.
The Solar Panel is very sensitive so it will charge even on the cloudiest days... we use our Solargrows to grow decoratives throughout the winter.
The Holiday Watering Kit’s 25 litre bucket keeps the reservoir topped up with water and nutrients for up to two weeks.

Over 9kg of harvest in one season!
In 2009, our Gardening Angel Victoria planted two tomato varieties, lldi and Crystal, and a sweet pepper, Tasty Grill Yellow, in a Solargrow in our Greenhouse
Victoria's Ildi variety did extremely well this season. Victoria harvested more than a sensational 9kg in total.
The harvest weight almost trebles throughout September thanks to automatic watering which allows the tomato plant to focus all of its energy on ripening fruit.
Mr Robert Finlay is a "more than satisfied customer". He has kindly sent us photos of his sensational Ildi Tomatos grown in his Solargrow which he has used for the first time this season.
After harvesting 70 tomatoes from the plant below, he had intended counting the tomatoes on one truss but he gave up after 140!
Thompson and Morgan describe this variety as typically producing 80 tomatoes per truss, so Robert's results are an incredible 80% above average. No wonder he is so impressed with his season's results.
