Why Choose The Vitopod:
Award-winning propagator - the Vitopod propagator is renowned as the most advanced propagator available. It has won many awards including the BBC Gardener's World Best Buy award and Grow Your Own magazine Most Innovative Product award.
Precise Control - the propagator thermostat can be set to any 1°C and with a range of 5°C to 30°C using the thermostat. The heat is delivered evenly throughout the base with no hot spots and cold spots and the temperature sensor triggers more or less heat depending on the sensor reading.
Large vents - for humidity control, so your plants don't dampen-off
Height adjustable - the Vitopod can be bought as a single, double or triple height, or you can order height extensions at any time. Each extension is 15cm tall, so you can protect plants for longer and can overwinter without heating your greenhouse

Being the inventors, designers and manufacturers of the award winning Vitopod Propagator we are always really chuffed when somebody says something nice about it and lots of people have, no wonder it's a best seller. Here's a sample of what magazines have said about it.
“The Vitopod is essentially a greenhouse with digital temperature controls – you really have the ability to create perfect growing conditions for the most difficult seeds or cuttings.” Grow Your Own magazine, dated Feb 2014
"If you're looking to expand your propagation area then look no further than this quality piece of kit. Its build is second to none and the large vents are easily adjustable. The digital display not only shows the set temperature but the actual temperature of the compost surface. It's flexible height capability means it can double as a heated cold frame/mini greenhouse in winter."Amateur Gardening, 9th March 2013, 'Best Buy' Propagators, Best Buy Propagator in March issue. 5 stars for Build, Features and Performance, 4 stars for Value
“"If there's just one thing you splash out on, make sure it's a really good electric propagator. You won't regret your investment. My vitopod one is large and allows accurate setting of temperature.”Pippa Greenwood "My 3 ultimate gardening must-haves...",Amateur Gardening
“The Vitopod propagator has completely revolutionised my seed sowing and I’m not getting any seed failures. I’ve used electronic propagators before and they were always rather unpredictable, but the Vitopod delivers even heat and is very accurate. It’s the best thing since sliced bread”Val Bourne, Daily Telegraph
"This is simply the best heated propagator on the market. Best Buy Propagator."BBC Gardener's World
“The ultimate in heat-assisted propagation… you’ll wonder how you ever got by without it.”Garden Answers
"Perfect for serious plant raisers"Gardening Which?
"My conclusion after 5 years is that it is one of the best investments a gardener can make" Vitopod electric heated propagator review - Allotment Garden
The Vitopod electric propagator delivers better germination rates, more effective over-wintering and hassle-free hardening-off of young plants. It was designed by botanists and plant geneticists and is used by many commercial nurseries as well as amateur gardeners because the benefits are based on science.
Precision temperature control
The temperature of the Vitopod is accurate to within 1C and it can be set between 5°C and 30°C. This means you can provide the temperature required by the plants whether they are the most popular veg plants, heirloom varieties, super-hot chillies or exotic decoratives.
The Vitopod propagator sensor and heater mat are always working together to keep the plants at the right temperature. When the sensor registers that the temperature has dropped below the set temperature it gently turns up the power to increase the heat without shocking the plants. When the sensor registers the temperature has increased above the set temperature it turns the heat off.
This precision, stable temperature control results in higher germination rates, faster growth and stronger healthier plants.
Even heat
The Vitopod delivers its heat evenly throughout the base so every seed tray receives the same level of heat. Other propagators have a heating cable in the base which results in hot spots on top of the cable and cold spots in the parts between the heating cable. The Vitopod's even heat is achieved because the heating elements are tightly packed together.
No hot or cold spots in the base means that the propgation success rate is higher because all of the seedlings or cuttings receive the correct temperature.
Humidity control
The humidity vents in the Vitopod proagator lids and sides allow for much greater humidity control. Humidity control is crucial in a propagator. Humidity levels inside a heated propagator can get very high with high levels of condensattion inside the propagator leading to seeds, young plants and cuttings rotting. This is especially a problem at higher propagation temperatures.
By opening the large vents in the Vitopod propagator gardeners can lower the humidity in the propagator quickly without having to remove the whole lid which would waste electricity and potentially expose the plants to too much cold.
You can be confident that the Vitopod provides the perfect environment for propagating seeds, cuttings and over-wintering plants.
Heated propagators are especially useful for growing vegetables because they enable gardeners to start seeds before the air temperature has reached the temperature required by the seeds and this means plants can get off to a head start. This is especially useful if growing vegetables as seeds started earlier can be harvested sooner in the season and harvested for longer – resulting in bigger harvests.
In the past many gardeners started seeds in a heated greenhouse or on a heated bench, but with rising electricity costs this isn’t feasible anymore. A heated bench is useful, but the warmth quickly dissipates so the heater is working constantly, whereas a heated propagator has sides and a lid which retain the heat.
